What Is Funded Kindergarten?
The Victorian Government provides funding to make Kindergarten more affordable for families. There are two main types of support:
Free Kinder
Up to $2,101 per year is deducted from your fees during school terms.
Child Care Subsidy (CCS)
If your family is eligible, CCS reduces your daily fees based on your family income.
How It Works
- If you receive CCS, it is applied first, then any Free Kinder funding is deducted from the remaining fee. This usually means a very low out-of-pocket cost during term time.
- If you don’t receive CCS, Free Kinder funding is deducted straight from your fees during term time.
Free Kinder applies during Victorian school terms, while CCS runs all year.
